...is it safe to come out now? Are these ponies not hyped anymore?
Yes, that's totally why this took so long to do, and not because of lack of inspiration, laziness, distractions
....yeah, it was totally because I wanted to dodge any hype.
Speaking of hype, back when this aired, I expected all the hype to be on Pinkie and the, er, brown pony (and one other pony from that song, that I will leave unmentioned). For his resemblance to a well-known and popular one. That's part of why the yellow one (Goldy? Colton? Red Delicious? Is that you? Which one is it?) was my favorite one to make out of this whole group, and was also the first. But a lot of that was because I liked his attire the best, too.
If any of you follow me outside
of my dA, then you guys'd know that I did the two stallions more or less the week following the episode (it's now been three weeks since that episode), but didn't even attempt Rapper Pie until this evening. Or, you could just check the upload dates on the individual versions below.
The 4:3 aspect ratio (which wasn't so bad) as well as the VCR filtering on the original...I don't know what's worse; that, or working with a tiny reference. The colors I used for the clothes are more or less my best guess with what I had to work with.
You can thank VectorizedUnicorn
for inspiring me to come out of my vectoring slump, and Ryan1942
for getting the word "hype" stuck in my head, for various reasons.
